7 Mindset Shifts That Will Change Your Life
Share
Your life is a reflection of your thinking. Change the thinking, and the life follows. Here are 7 mindset shifts that will change your life, not eventually, but immediately, as you begin to apply them.
You cannot live intentionally with an unintentional mind. These shifts are where it starts.
Shift 1: From I have to, to I get to
I have to go to work. I have to exercise. I have to pray. The words have to frame everything as obligation. Replace them with get to and watch the energy shift. I get to go to work. I get to move my body. I get to speak to God. Gratitude changes the experience of the same action.
Shift 2: From I failed, to I learned
Failure is not the opposite of success, it is part of the path to it. Every setback contains information. Every missed day contains a lesson. The question is not why did I fail, but what did I learn, and what will I do differently? This shift turns every experience into a resource.
Shift 3: From I am not ready, to I will get ready by going
Waiting until you feel ready is one of the most effective ways to never start. Readiness is not a feeling that arrives before action, it is a state that develops through action. Take the next step. You will get ready by going.
Shift 4: From I do not have time, to This is not a priority right now
Everyone has the same 24 hours. When you say I do not have time, what you are really saying is this is not a priority. That is honest, and honesty is the beginning of intentional living. Once you name your actual priorities, you can decide whether they are the right ones.
Shift 5: From Things happen to me, to I respond to what happens
Victim thinking says: life is happening to me and I have no control. Intentional thinking says: I cannot always control what happens, but I can always control how I respond. This shift is the foundation of personal responsibility, and personal responsibility is the foundation of a purposeful life.
Shift 6: From I need to feel motivated, to I need to show up
Motivation is a feeling. Discipline is a decision. The most productive, purposeful people are not more motivated than everyone else, they have simply learned to show up regardless of how they feel. The feeling follows the action. Not the other way around.
Shift 7: From I am not enough, to I am God's handiwork
This is the deepest shift. The belief that you are not enough is the root of more unfulfilled potential than any external circumstance. Ephesians 2:10 says you are God's handiwork, created for good works prepared in advance. Not someone else. You. That is not a motivational quote. It is a theological fact.
You are God's handiwork. Created for good works prepared in advance. Not someone else. You.

Choose the one shift from this list that resonates most. Write it down as a declaration. Speak it out loud. Carry it through the day. That is how a mindset shift becomes a mindset change.

SIIB: Speak It Into Being
Mindset shifts are reinforced by what you speak and what surrounds you. The SIIB range is built on this principle: wear words that reflect the mind you are building. Sagacious. Perspicacious. Bodacious. Effulgent.
