This is astronomy, not astrology

Let's be clear about what this is, because the word "stars" gets borrowed for a lot of things we want no part of. This is not zodiac, not star signs, not a horoscope — we don't believe the stars decide anything, and we would never sell you the idea that they do.

This is actual astronomy: the true positions of the stars, worked out the way an observatory would work them out — for the sky over the hospital, at the minute they arrived. The constellations are the real ones that stood overhead. The moon is drawn at its true phase. If a bright planet crossed the sky that night, the chart says so. Give us a different hour, or a town fifty miles away, and the map changes — because the sky really was different there.

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands" (Psalm 19:1). That's what this is: one page of that declaration — God's creation, caught on paper, exactly as it stood over your moment. He hung every one of those stars, and He was there that night too.

The place matters more than people expect: the sky over Bath and the sky over Sydney on the same night are completely different, so give us the town and country.
