Speak life over your children

Children are gifts from God. “Children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward” (Psalm 127:3) No matter what the circumstances are surrounding their birth, they are precious treasures in need of love and care. As parents, we have the perfect opportunity to shape and mold these lives for success. Be aware, however, that in many instances, the words we speak to and about them are what will shape their future. It is essential that we make it our mission to speak life into our children even when they are in the womb and continue to do so throughout their lives.

It is the covering of biblical declarations and truths from God about them that will make them great. It does not matter what their personalities are or what their skills and abilities are, you should speak blessings over each of them. The reality is that of all the resources you have available to raise your children the most influential one is still — your tongue.

You cannot predict the future, but you can certainly have a say in the destinies of your children and how they turn out. Hannah in the book of Samuel made a declaration over her ,she said: “As long as he lives he is dedicated to the LORD " (1 Samuel 1:28). This was an amazing prophetic word that a mother chose to speak over her son. It shaped his life, his purpose, and his reality. The prophet Samuel was raised in the house of God, remained there until he died and fulfilled his purpose in life.

Don’t hesitate to speak words of blessings over your children’s present and future. Bless their relationships, bless their finances, bless their marriages, speak divine protection over them. Speak it into being. Take the time look them in the eye and speak meaningful and life-giving words to them. Refuse to call your child “stupid,” “no good” “just like your good for nothing mother or father.” These are curses you place on the gifts God has given you and if you repeat these words them often enough, you will eventually reap the fruit of your tongue.
