To be or not to be- change your life

There is an amazing example of declarations both evil and good in the book of Numbers chapter 24. When Balak wanted to destroy the people of Israel, he hired a prophet to make evil pronouncements against them. He wanted Balaam to stand up and speak out evil. Note carefully, these were declarations to bring destruction and demise on the people. The mere fact that Balak called on Balaam and paid him so much money to make such proclamations, is evidence that the words we speak correlate with the spirit world to effect action either for the good or the bad.

The truth is that Balaam’s reputation preceded him. He was well-known for using his mouth to do as James 3:10 says — to pour out both “blessings and curses.” However, God intervened and forbid Balaam from pronouncing curses. He could only speak blessings. What is also very serious about this situation is the fact that the Israelites had no clue that this plot was being carried out against them. It was not a plot to defeat them by physical warfare. Balak and Balaam were the instruments of the principalities and powers that are spoken about in Ephesians 6:12. There was a hive of activity going on in the spiritual realm that could not be seen with the physical eyes and the weapons were words. Evil words crafted to defeat them, to prevent them from advancing, from growing and from moving forward. Balak’s intention was to cripple the people spiritually so that they could not succeed physically.

The reality is that our situations are no different, many of us have no idea, what words are being spoken against us to purport evil. It is important for you to be on your guard so that you can push against the things that would steal your momentum, stop you from moving forward, from living life to the fullest and from experiencing a life of peace.

How do you counteract such negative forces? How do you deal with the things you cannot see and touch that are fighting against you?

Truth and the Word of the spirit are among the weapons of God named in Ephesians chapter 6. It is important to use the Word daily to speak powerful declarations over yourself, your children, marriage, and home.

“I will not be defeated by my enemies, they will run away from me seven different ways!”(Deuteronomy 28:7).

“People will make weapons to fight against me, but their weapons will not defeat me. They will speak against me but anyone who speaks against me will be proved wrong” (Isaiah 54:17).

May God bless you to exercise control over your words, and bless others in your speech.

God stopped Balaam and Balak. He did not kill them physically, he killed their evil words and replaced them with blessings.

“People of Jacob, your tents are beautiful!

Israelites, your homes are beautiful!

You are like rows of palm trees planted by the streams.

You are like gardens growing by the rivers.” (Numbers 24:5-6)

Can you imagine how furious Balak was when he heard this? He was extremely mad. But, when God is for you, who can be against you? No-one.

Your words of blessings; your biblical prayers over your life- as you push back the evil and press forward to success- will create a stir in the spirit realm, and they will also change your life. You can do it. Speak it into being.
